Sauromatum venosum Voodoo Lily
The flowers is a large spaethe up to 28 inches long that is translucent yellow and very heavily spotted maroon red. The spadix extension is also maroon red and is up to 18 inches long.
The fruits are round and covered in black seeds.
Hardy zones 6 to 9 and requires light to medium shaded sites with moist, well drained soil. The tubers will survive the winter outdoors if the soil does not freeze. Mulch heavily in zones 6 through 8.
